Bringing global issues into the school curriculum

The LMLG is an accredited Development Education Centre and contributes to a regional strategy for bringing global issues into the school curriculum.

The East Midlands Network for Global Perspectives in Schools (EMNGPS) is a partnership of organisations actively involved in promoting global citizenship and sustainable development. It is funded by the Department for International Development (DFID) and aims to raise levels of development awareness in schools and meet the Millennium Development Goals.

Since 2005, the LMLG has been responsible for co-ordinating the Leicester City and Leicestershire Locality Group of EMNGPS. In this capacity, we liaise with local organisation and both Local Authorities to provide support and resources for global citizenship in city and county schools.
